30 Minutes a Day - Day 7

Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. - Exodus 20:8. Therefore, I am not working today. I wanted to take a ride up to a friend's house to see her Spring Pop-up of arts, crafts, and goodies for sale, but that may not be on my husband's schedule. I want to check if I have a key to my mom's house, but it may not be on our schedule today.

Today is the birthday of our neighbor next door. She is a beautiful person on the inside and out.

Next month, I hope to finish planting our garden. Cucumbers are coming in and I'm excited. Compost-sprouted. The planters are from that good neighbor I mentioned. So, do you like a glass of water filled with slices of cucumber? Do you put those slices over your eyes afterwards? Cucumbers have health benefits. One cup of cucumbers has only 16 calories. Not that I count calories. I can't reach 120 lbs. even when I am fully dressed (with my fanny pack and boots) and have just finished off some breakfast. They only have 1g protein, 0g fat, 1g fiber, 2g sugar, and 2 mg sodium. But, they do have 14% of the RDI of vitamin C and 62% of vitamin K. Vitamin K, along with Vitamin D3 sustains our bone health and calcium absorption. I take vitamin D3 + probiotics. Cucumbers have 10% of the RDI of magnesium, 13% potassium, 12% manganese.

They contain antioxidants and micronutrients. Antioxidants are chemicals that fight oxidation. And if you're not sure what oxidation know when you bite into an apple and leave it on the counter and it turns brown? It does that because it loses electrons. It oxides.

The same thing can happen to our bodies because we age and due to the toxins we are exposed to. The most toxic thing we are exposed to (right within our homes) is BPA. It disrupts our endocrines. It negatively relates to our glands which secrete hormones into our blood.
