The Madonna and Child No. 2 was originally painted for a church exhibit. It would be great if I could paint more portraits. In the near future, I will take a class on how to do so.
This painting needs to be framed so I can enter it in the Rancho Cordova Arts 8th Annual Members Exhibit. I believe a warm cherry wood frame would look best. I usually get the frames at Hobby Lobby. I love their friendly and helpful staff.
I have an emotional connection to the subjects. Jesus is my Lord and Savior. Depictions of the Madonna and Jesus in art hold profound historical significance, originating in early Christian catacombs and evolving into central icons of divine motherhood and salvation.
This piece is meaningful to me as Mother's Day is approaching. In the Bible, motherhood is viewed as a sacred calling, a divine ministry, and a significant means of reflecting God’s character.
