The Unexpected Moment
Have you ever received an unwanted diagnosis? Monday, November 21, 2005. OUR DAUGHTER WAS OFF TO COLLEGE. I had had a breast lump biopsy the Thursday before. I had a nasty bad feeling.
It was difficult to receive the phone call from my doctor while I was home alone on Thanksgiving break as we were expecting our college daughter home for the holiday.
I remember the call and the silence in our home as I placed the phone back in its cradle and wondered how I was going to break this news to our daughter.
